We do recommend attending one of the information sessions listed below.  They provide an opportunity to learn more about NEED and what volunteering with our Crisis and Information Line is all about.  Information Sessions generally run between 60 and 90 minutes.

Applying to Volunteer at NEED as a Phone Line Volunteer

Before being accepted into training, all volunteers must complete an application and participate in a personal interview.

Applying to Volunteer at NEED as a Suicide Awareness for Youth (SAY) Volunteer

Community Education Volunteers are needed to present Suicide Awareness Workshops to local youth in schools and youth groups.

If you have:

  • a desire to reach out to youth
  • time during the day
  • comfort speaking to groups
